March giveaway...Clink jewellery

Post a comment in March, and I’ll choose a couple of folk to give away these two super cool necklaces to. I’d seen Clink jewellery around a bit and it always intrigued me. I photographed Tahnee out and about with Clink on not long back. What I love is Aaron and Rebecca’s supra 70’s vogue Stevie Nicks thing they have going with their crystals, and yet, they can’t be mistaken for something that you’d have found at a craft Market in Blenheim. They are unmistakeably modern - no doubt about it.

Anyhow..! Clink is fabulous New Zealand jewellery to be sure, and it’s out March giveaway.

For the diehards..further info about the pieces here:

Vogel style crystal

“ When we say vogel style we don't mean it has anything to do with vogels bread, although vogels bread is very tasty. This luminescent clear quartz was cut in a particular way to become an instrument to store, amplify, convert, and cohere subtle energies. The dude that came up with the whole thing was Marcel Joseph Vogel who was a research scientist for IBM for 27 years- so a pretty smart guy. “

Carnelion bullet

“ A VPT 79 shell cleaved to a beautiful Carnelion crystal. How they got this combo I will never know, the "VPT" part stands for Valtion Patruunatehdas (State Munitions Plant) of Finland, whom made replica bullets off russian models during WW2. This bullet would not have been easy to find, especially in little old NZ. On top of that, chemically Carnelian is composed of Silicon Dioxide, SiO2, and gets its red color from Hematite (Iron-Oxide, FeO2) impurities. Most Carnelians offered today are Agates which are dyed and then heat treated. Natural Carnelian will usually exhibit a cloudy distribution of color- which is why this crystal is so cool. Easily seen cloudy red streaks and variations boast its authenticity.
The combo of this particular crystal and this particular bullet make it a very special piece indeed. “
