New Zealand's Downton Abbey?

Ok, not quite the scale of Highclere Castle, BUT I was amazed at the detail of Alberton House in Mt Albert Auckland. Formerly a farming homestead with a massive 500 acre "garden", Alberton has been lovingly restored with an eye to historical accuracy and detail. The amazing thing about this place is they don't advertise. It is almost ALL word of mouth. Why? Because they don't want crowds traipsing through the place. But check it out. It's wonderful.
