Cool Places...Slowing down in Te Aroha

I had a wonderful weekend away with Tabitha in Te Aroha. It is a little town of 3,500 people in the Waikato, and it’s slow pace, diminished energy, great light, and wonderful history is thoroughly energising. I think I have talked about this place before, but it’s imbued with a real sense of magic and charm. When spa treatments were all the rage in the late 1800’s and turn of the century, this used to be one of four geothermal centres, heaving with visitors fresh off the train: The others being Rotorua, Hamner Springs, and Waiwera. The wetlands area is just beautiful, and the Hauraki rail trail to Paeroa is a real gem. Slow down..and wind down in this little place. You might just never want to leave.

Great Blog, Wallace, and yes Te Aroha is a great place to live or come visit. I moved here from Auckland some 12 years ago having fallen in love with this beautiful, sleepy little town and its mountain of love. It's the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moments, the natural beauty and the friendly people. Do come visit again.
