Manhattan by film...Part 2

Images from the 1958 Leica. Got a lot of interest in the type of camera, and why I was using film. Got into a long subway conversation with guy next to me about it. Just goes to show what a rarity it is these days.

We had a great chat outside Sant Ambroeus...an Upper east Side Native, this lady has lived there all her life. " I know Bernard Arnault ( CEO of LVMH ). Oh yeah, sure, he comes here all the time when he's in town." .....

It that's an Leica M2 you are using it's probably the best camera Leica ever made. Simple viewfinder without cluttered frame lines, manual in every way makes film loading impossible to fail. I still have two of them from 1970 when they were already old. One has been with me in a canvas bag on my shoulder for 40 years and is so ragged now, but still works perfectly. The camera forced me to understand light because there is no light meter, and I never owned a meter. I have an M9 now and still use 1950s 35mm lens. Cheers
